These kids these days…(Per Ron Chernow, Hamilton’s year of birth is uncertain; he may have been as young as 19 in 1776.)
Let’s take a trip to 1776;
Alexander Hamilton was 21.
James Monroe was 18.
Aaron Burr was 20.
Marquis de Lafayette was 18.
Yup…we really shouldn’t listen to the young people. Cause they might start a democracy or something crazy like that.— Christian Navarro (@ChristianLN0821) February 25, 2018
Definition obfuscate: to be evasive, unclear, or confusing
NRA isn’t a “lobby group.” It’s a fellowship organization of gun owners. I can’t take you seriously on any level now that you’ve demonstrated you don’t know anything about the group your smearing. Enjoy your day.

NRAILA is a lobbying arm. Not membership, which I represent, & I, despite some media’s accusations, am not a lobbyist. Overwhelming majority of NRA’s budget is spent on safety & training. ILA spends a fraction of what unions, Planned Parenthood, Bloomberg spend on their lobbying.

But let’s look back at where this all began — with a claim that NRA is not a lobbying organization. pic.twitter.com/8rOnZZrSOe

Wait, it gets better. The NRA has described itself as “lobbying group” on its own website: https://t.co/60yt5PPVkW pic.twitter.com/aLhJj8slVK

“More listening”…always a good idea.
Gov. Jay Inslee (D-WA) tells Trump to tweet less, listen more to what teachers think about arming educators: “They should not be foisted upon this responsibility of packing heat in first grade classes. … Let’s just take that off the table and more forward.” pic.twitter.com/pRyburlQ4K

When somebody shows you who they are, believe them. (Or just go here instead: Beto for Senate)
Take one minute & watch this video of a Republican United States Senator.
This is Senator Ted Cruz of Texas thinking he’s being cute. He’s using an AR-15, the weapon most often used to mass murder children. The Republican party is immature, irresponsible & reckless #CPAC2018 pic.twitter.com/fqbII2de9m

Speaking truth to power, as difficult as it is, is just one part of achieving justice.
Nonviolence, as my father embraced it, is not passive. It acts, strategizes, speaks truth to power, confronts injustice, works for justice & cultivates heart & systemic change. It also believes “True peace is not merely the absence of tension; it is the presence of justice.” #MLK

Scalia. ‘Nuf said. (Although there are plenty that argue that Scalia didn’t say what we think he said.)
Hey gun loving “originalists” who haven’t bothered to even read the 2nd amendment, here’s an excerpt of the SCOTUS decision in Heller-written by model originalist Justice Scalia.

Heroic presidents gonna hero. Oh, wait…
“So what happens is, this guy falls on his face, hits his head, and I thought he died. & you know what I did? I said, ‘Oh my god, that’s disgusting,’ and turned away. I didn’t want to touch him,he’s bleeding all over the place, I felt terrible. You know, beautiful marble floor”

What if we had state legislatures that would provide enough funds for education so this could become a reality?
After seeing these Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students demonstrate the benefits and foresight and resilience of a quality education by exemplary teachers, every school board should require and fund speech & debate, journalism, and theater programs in their schools.

Dana, honey, just give it up. The tide has turned.
Hey everyone,
Can someone do me a favor and tweet this @dloesch?
She blocked me and @williamlegate when we tried to point this out. Also @rolandscahill, if this is something you wouldn’t mind amplifying, would be appreciated.#KidsNotGuns #NeverAgain #ArmMeWithBooks pic.twitter.com/sUur9bn8BA

{{{DoReMI}}} – good round up of some not so good comments. moar {{{HUGS}}}
As per usual, it wasn’t quite what I originally planned, but sometimes I just go with what my mood dictates. After watching the disingenuous parsing of words by Ms. Loesch, which she knew full well depended upon a technicality that she could have explained readily, I was irked. I don’t like it from politicians, and I certainly don’t like it from representatives of the Death Lobby, whether they are personally registered as lobbyists or not.
Go with the flow is sometimes the best policy. :) And yeah, the Death Lobby – or actually the most vocal and active Death Lobby as there are many on that side of the political spectrum – needs to be exposed for what they are. moar {{{HUGS}}}
Good morning, Meese. Thanks for the double posting, DoReMi. Like you’ve commented elsewhere, I’m close to becoming a single issue voter when it comes to the NRA. They should be banned from lobbying. Period.
39 right now and 60 for the high with sunshine today. Then back to rain for the rest of the week. Got about an inch yesterday. More coffee needed if I can extract the kitteh.
Did you see the hail yesterday? 50 was pretty bad, but fortunately I was able to find other ways to get to where I needed to be.
I saw it on the news. None that I saw in my neighborhood. Some good rain totals.
I’m going to be here sporadically today. I have an ailing pup, and there is nothing quite as needy and pathetic as an under-the-weather basset hound. I’d be laughing if she weren’t so miserable…
Oh, no. Sad. Give the puppy gentle skitches and hugs from me. Poor baby.
Thanks; she should be ok per the vet, but in the meantime, she’s wearing a Cone of Shame and hasn’t quite figured out how to maneuver with it on. It took her more than an hour to figure out that she could lie down while wearing it…she’s adorable but maybe not the brightest basset in the litter!
Maybe it’s that very “dimness” that makes her so adorable.
I’ve always said that bassets aren’t dumb; they’re just differently motivated. But I’m far from an objective source when it comes to bassets! (And she’s got me trained. I finally took the cone off so she could sleep, but now, of course, I have to sit by her side in the event she wakes and tries to lick herself. She’s planted herself on my lap, so there goes any chance of getting much done today. Did I say she wasn’t bright?!)
