Welcome to The Moose Pond! The Welcomings posts give the Moose, old and new, a place to visit and share words about the weather, life, the world at large and the small parts of Moosylvania that we each inhabit.
Welcomings will be posted at the start of each week (dated Sunday morning). To find the posts, just bookmark this link and Voila! (which is Moose for “I found everyone!!”).
The format is simple: each day, the first moose to arrive on-line will post a comment welcoming the new day and complaining (or bragging!) about their weather. Or mentioning an interesting or thought provoking news item. Or simply checking in.
So … what’s going on in your part of Moosylvania?
…
NOTE: The comments page will now split off after 20 or so left margin comments with the most recent comments on the current page. To see the older comments, scroll to the bottom of the page and use the link.

Good morning, 61 and cloudy in Bellingham. A quick read of the news tells me I want to avoid reality today, so I’m going to the pool and will try to find a quiet corner to just be in.
Best wishes to all.
Good morning, meeses! Saturday …
It is 72 degrees in Madison with an expected daytime high of 88 (100 heat index). The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies.
Two district courts issued orders in yesterday’s Friday afternoon news dump: one declared that cancelling DACA was “arbitrary and capricious” and must be restored and the other declared that the Trump administration is responsible for reuniting the families separated at the border. Courts Matter and if we can take back the Senate we can put a halt to the Federalist Society’s remaking of the federal courts – a Trump court system would not have issued these orders. The DACA case is interesting because the judge ordered that DACA be reinstated and stayed his order for 20 days. The “Justice” Department will appeal but the Supreme Court right now only has 8 people on it. What happens if they deadlock? Stay tuned.

I am looking for a transcript. If anyone knows where I can find one, I would appreciate a link.
The Democratic Party’s Weekly Address is on protecting our health care and how the Kavanaugh confirmation will almost certainly guarantee that protection for those with pre-existing conditions will be repealed. I will post it after I get my Saturday morning projects done.
See all y’all later!
Darn =posted this = didn’t see you had Jan :)
Was she there? I like her. Will look forward to your transcript, Jan.
I hope I can find one. I know she talked about “identity politics” which upset the berners. Those with white male identity do not like to hear about their privilege.
Good morning meese. Just landed in Houston and waiting to get off the plane before going to my next flight. Apparently they need an airport technician to get the jetbridge aligned.
OMG, basket, hope you’re going to be able to make your connecting flight!
Hi Folks – checking in from NOLA and about to head out for Kissimmee. Really had fun visiting but time does fly and all that. Healing Energy to everybody. Bright the day, Meeses. {{{HUGS}}}

Slept in, fitfully but that’s what Saturdays are for (for me, anyway). Today: groceries & setting oatmeal out to thaw. It’s kind of dry, so I’ll mix in a tub of yogurt & maybe another bag of berries. Just waiting for Joy Reid’s show to come on. Happy Saturday!
Morning, Moosefolk! Alternately sunny and cloudy in Ashburn today. Currently it’s 73 F., on its way up to 87 F. Hot and humid!
Mr. Preschooler was very good during his sleepover. We all got on the shuttle and went to breakfast at the main clubhouse this morning. Ugh. The next time we’ll go to Virginia Kitchen and get food that is hot.
Errands this morning, pottering about this afternoon, and then I hope to see a movie at the Great Oak clubhouse tonight. Happy Saturday, all!
Good morning, 59 and sunny in Bellingham. I can smell the marine air and sea gulls are squawking…..feels like being on the boat but I’m not, yay! I’ve got another quiet day planned with some time in my garden and then in my sewing room. Another round of family visits starts next week so I appreciate this quiet week.
I’ve always loved the Winnie The Pooh books, so this movie looks inviting……
