Today’s post is inspired by this tweet; I’m not giving up my House afterglow just yet.
So much pain and heartache in this embrace. And so much joy and beauty as well. Such a powerful moment.

I think we all needed this. Thank you.
{{{DoReMI}}} – Yes. hugs say so much with few or no words. Good times we rejoice together, bad times we support each other. moar {{{HUGS}}}
Thank you! Lovely to see, and to remember.
Thanks, all. I was so profoundly moved by the Haaland/Davids hug and also buoyed by it, even more than I thought would be possible. I think we’re all going to need the strength after tonight’s propaganda statement during primetime; consider yourselves preemptively hugged.
What a lovely post, DoReMI! It makes me want to cry.
(Muttering to self: why did delightful Michelle hug Dubya?)
That has been something I have wondered about for a while – ever since I saw their greeting at the opening of the National Museum of African American History and Culture. When I look at him and his mannerisms, I wonder if he is in the early stages of dementia and functioning at an emotional level that touches her heart in some way. I personally would not be able to overlook his role in 9/11 and the Iraq war and Abu Ghraib and would be unable to touch him. But that is me, I am not as nice as Michelle Obama!
