Welcome to The Moose Pond! The Welcomings posts give the Moose, old and new, a place to visit and share words about the weather, life, the world at large and the small parts of Moosylvania that we each inhabit.
Welcomings will be posted at the start of each week (usually Saturday night with a Sunday date). To find the posts, just bookmark this link and Voila! (which is Moose for “I found everyone!!”).
The format is simple: each day, the first moose to arrive on-line will post a comment welcoming the new day and complaining (or bragging!) about their weather. Or mentioning an interesting or thought provoking news item. Or simply checking in.
So … what’s going on in your part of Moosylvania?
…
NOTE: The comments page will now split off after 20 or so left margin comments with the most recent comments on the current page. To see the older comments, scroll to the bottom of the page and use the link.

Gray day again – we did get just over 5 KWHs yesterday which is almost what I use in a day. I hope we start getting more sunshine this year. The highest February for this system was 320 KWHs in 2016 – but last year we didn’t make 200. Oh the difference sunshine makes! It’s in the upper 40s – expected to get close to 60 today. We shall see what we shall see.
I boosted BIPOC signals yesterday on Northam – plus a few telling the Rs to shut up. Part of the #VoteLikeBlackWomen including listening and paying attention to what they say. And following their lead. So I’ll continue boosting signals & periodically add my WW’s voice to the #ResignRalph movement. I’d love the karmic win of a Black man taking ol’ Ralphie’s place.
Nothing new I guess. Deplorables still being deplorable – some more violently than others. We as Dems are still weeding them out of our tent as they show their true faces. Family – internet & otherwise – still need various kinds of Help/Healing for which I keep Channeling/Praying/Sending Good Vibes. & sending some grocery money as appropriate/as needed. So. I’ll go wander the internet for a bit then I’m going to celebrate Imbolc/Candlemas/Groundhog Day by getting my hair cut. LOL. Bright the day, Meeses. {{{HUGS}}}
Good morning, 44 and raining in Bellingham. I’m going to try to have a news lite day because it’s all too upsetting and fear is creeping into my dreams again. I know life is complex, but when fear overwhelms my sleep it’s time to focus on the reality of what I can do to make my daily life as secure and happy as life can be.
I’ve been trying to start a new sewing project but haven’t been able to focus. So today I’ll keep the news turned off, the music on, and try to settle my mind and hope a creative thought will emerge.
Take care everyone.
