COUNTING DOWN THE TIME UNTIL DECENCY RETURNS …
It’s 43 (from 29) heading for 48 and sunny at the moment but I can see the clouds starting to move in. We did get enough sunshine yesterday for 6.3 KWHs (m-t-d 106.5) which I’m hoping we can at least do again today.
My hands are doing better – as long as I take breaks and don’t do long stretches of boosts/mouse clicks at a time. My sinuses are not. Descriptions would be TMI but lets say I may be in bed for 9 hours a night but I’m lucky if I’m sleeping for 4 – and that won’t be continuous. I’m probably getting my best sleep after some of you have gotten up for the day. sigh. I really need to find some safe way to get some walking in. My back exercises are holding things at bay for the time being but I can already feel some muscles just looking for an excuse to spasm. I’ll figure out something.
I’m seeing some dump trucks and earth moving equipment down the way where the brush was being burned over the last several weeks. I guess the owner finally suckered somebody in the Planning Office into signing off on his latest building scheme. We shall see. Deplorables trying to take advantage wherever they can whenever they can – sort of the reverse of Hillary’s “do all the good you can…” But again, we shall see.
I’ve got a bunch of stuff to tweet/boost I know. Mostly because I got offline last night before it hit. LOL. And then, if it feels warm enough/sun is still out, I may see if I can take a walk. Or if I can get the treadmill belt to actually move so I can walk on it. One more day until Decency takes the helm. Bright the day, Meeses. {{{HUGS}}}
Good morning, 33 and light clouds in Bellingham. When I wake up tomorrow morning tRump will be on his way out of my life, yay! It’s going to take some time for my serious case tRump angst to ease but celebrating the Biden/Harris inauguration will help. Pre Covid we would have a family dinner and celebrate together but tomorrow we’ll have the iPhone family chat.

It is 7 degrees in Madison with an expected daytime high of 30. Mostly sunny skies are in the forecast.
Less than 5 hours until decency returns. From the decency will flow everything else – decent people don’t lock babies in cages or allow a pandemic to rage unchecked causing people to die alone or discriminate against people or coddle white supremacists.
I will put Joe’s inauguration speech up in a post tomorrow under the new Category “Biden-Harris White House” and will make sure I find a video of Kamala Harris’ swearing in. It is FINALLY happening!! I am looking forward to my first @POTUS tweet in 4 years.
By the way, I don’t care who tRump pardons – his business associates and friends and former staff will commit other crimes, it is their nature, and any of the crimes that involved fraud may have state penalties related to taxes. No one is going to get away scot-free – if nothing else the legal fees will continue for years. PLUS, every second spent complaining about tRump is time taken away from the excitement of a small d democratic and big D Democratic administration taking power. Let’s not do it.
I have a couple of accounting things I need to get finished so that I can concentrate on the celebration.

Good Inauguration Day morning, Moosekind! So glad we’e having an Inauguration rather than an In-Hog-uration! It’s 39 F. and hideously windy (20-30 mph) here in Northern Virginia, going up to 43 F. May the entire Pagan Pantheon as well as the other gods urge our new Prez to wear at least a coat, if not a hat, during the proceedings. This JFK-initiated fashion of wearing only a suit to stand outside in January is so bloody stupid. Our Prez-to-be is 78. We don’t need him to catch cold and die when he’s just achieved his life’s ambition.
But enough of this meteorological chitchat. The entire day shall be spent wearing my Biden-Harris t-shirt and Inauguration Mask (when I have to leave the flat) as we watch the proceedings. I’m just about to start breakfast. Promised Hubby a soft-boiled egg with soldiers and bacon.
Finished one of my Communications Committee projects, hope to finish one more and start a new one during the dull bits (talking heads) today.
They’re cutting off our water from 9 to 3 today so we must hurry through breakfast and ablutions. We’ve got wastebaskets filled with water, as well as various pitchers and jugs, to get us through the day.
Glad to hear bfitz’ hands are a bit better, and hope the treadmill works for exercise. Jan, how did the doctor visit go? Hope the leg is better.

My leg is holding me up now but certain movements cause intense pain so I am moving slowly and testing things as I make my way through the day. The initial diagnosis is “hamstring strain” and they did not suspect any internal damage. I will get PT starting next week in an attempt to strengthen my way out of this. Thanks for asking!
Try alternating ice and heat. That stimulates the circulation and helps reduce the muscle spasming it sounds like you’re dealing with. moar Healing Energy.

Happy, happy, happy Inauguration day!!! Watching local news because MSNBC is inexplicably showing the p.o.s.’s departure ceremony. I also have my exuberance playlist going — Everybody Dance Now is on as I type, totally fitting. Will watch MSNBC after the toddler’s farewell ceremony is over.
The plane has taken off. Those disgusting ….I hate to say “people”, but don’t know what else to use – will steal everything that isn’t nailed or glued down off that plane.

Happy Inauguration Day! Hope and promise – and a whole lot of work. Some will complain about the work. And it’s not humanly possible to do everything everybody wants done. But in just a few hours we will have Decent leadership doing as much as they can starting as soon as the official ceremonies abate enough for them to put pen to paper. Decent people with decent policies. People will get help. Pandemic will be addressed properly to save lives, not take them. Change in policy, reallocation of resources to fulfill that change – and again, a lot of work. For all of us. Work I for one am happy to do/be a part of. When the sun comes and the water comes, the gardeners still must plant and tend before there can be a good harvest. But with sun and water and work there will be a good harvest.
It’s 32 at the moment heading for 50 and another of those “sunny now but clouds moving in” days. But we got 8 KWHs yesterday (m-t-d 114) which is good for January. Whew! We did it. Twitter is a firehose of happy people (mostly) and my news feed is filled with news about decency returning. Ten Republican Senators chose to vote against the first Biden cabinet pick to get a vote, DNI Avril Haines, and I am sure that that band of merry miscreants will be the core of the Republican “resistance.” Fine. They can also be the core of the permanent Republican minority – an annoyance that we will brush off. I am particularly sad that Ernst of Iowa was one of them – we had a good candidate there, it is the state next door and the Iowans I know deserved better. :(

Good morning. Yesterday was so wonderful, loved everything from the fashion to the poetry, the music in the evening, that they kept some of the traditions that they could…just everything. Today’s plan: back to work.
Good wonderful Thursday morning, Moosekind! As if happy to celebrate the new administration, we have the best day of the week this morning. Sunlight everywhere, not a cloud to be seen, 36 F. now, 52 F. later.
We spent the entire day of the Inauguration staring and staring. ‘Course, that uses up only 7 calories an hour, so the scales this morning issued a stern reproof. OK, OK, I’ll get out for a walk when it’s just a little bit warmer.
I was too exhausted by emotion and laziness to watch the concert last night. Besides, when you’ve seen one fireworks display, you’ve seen ’em all, IMHO.
So this morning, bathed and dressed, face shining with resolve (and Pond’s cold cream), I’m going to work on the stuff I have to report about this afternoon at 3 during the Communications Committee meeting.
First of all, though, I have to look at the cover design proofs for my latest mss. and either approve or disapprove them. They actually arrived on Tuesday but yesterday I was determined to watch the Inauguration and nothing else.
The feeling of relief is almost palpable. Looking at the White House and not feeling that it’s contaminated is a joy. Waking up this morning and not having to think, “What’s he done NOW? Are we at war with Iran? North Korea? Russia?” is the best blood pressure-lowering thought I’ve ever had.
Wishing a nice, peaceful Thursday to all at the Pond, with lots of Executive Orders, and of course a good day to President Biden and Vice-President HARRIS!
Welp, relief more than anything else. Some joy at the joy. At the “firsts” and at the rejoicing of folks who worked so hard to get us to a place where these firsts could happen – Hillary and Kamala’s niece, the woman worked so hard to make it so, the little girl growing up in a world where it is. Some irritation – does anybody ever think how some (most) of our “patriotic” songs land on Native ears? In this world of creative geniuses couldn’t somebody at least re-write some lyrics or add a new verse if we’re gonna keep the song itself for “tradition”? Some depression – the MSM has already started rehabilitating Pence’s image. But mostly relief. With every EO Joe signed yesterday afternoon, weight rolled off and muscles unknotted. Including the relief that now we can get to work, that now the work will actually get done and not run into brick walls of Deplorability.
We only got 4 KWHs yesterday and as cloudy as it is I’d be surprised if we get even that much today. We’re at 118 for the m-t-d which is nowhere near on track. But as with everything else, we’ll keep on truckin’. Bright the day, Meeses. {{{HUGS}}}
Good morning, 40 and cloudy in Bellingham. I was so focused on watching the inaugural yesterday I forgot to come here to celebrate! I feel such great relief the one I will not name is gone. The tasks facing the Biden administration are huge, but a return to truth based communication and decision making will help all of us support them in what ever ways we can.
We are trying to get on multiple lists for a Covid vaccine, but so far the only response is “we’ll call you.” Everyone I know who has been vaccinated has done so through their work or because of who they know. I honestly don’t expect a quick fix to the supply chain issues but I’m anxious to be vaccinated regardless.

The news is very odd lately – I think the media is trying to figure out what to do with the big hole in their news coverage that was so willingly filled by the orange menace to society. I watched the first two pressers by the Jen Psaki and I don’t think I will watch any more. I despise the crap that the Fox News people are asking like “how can there be unity when all the things Republicans want like border walls and hating on Muslims are gone??!!” I think it is time to turn off my TV and go back to watching HGTV and Weather Nation. Plus I really don’t need 24×7 firehoses of Mitch McConnell acting like Mitch McConnell blasted at me.
I am going to assume that the new administration will be doing the Weekly Presidential Addresses again which will make my life easier – I won’t have to hunt for the Democratic Party ones any longer and complain about how bad the Senate Democrats are when it comes to media. :)

Good morning from Seattle-like Austin, it’s been almost-raining for most of the week, but this afternoon is supposed to be sunny. Going for a walk after I log out from work.
Good Friday morning, Moosekiind! This has been such a mixed-up or momentous week that I’ve been forgetting what day it is. That’s what happens when you don’t go to work every day.
It’s partly cloudy and a bit breezy in Ashburn just now. The current temp. is 42 F., working its way up to 45 F.
Yesterday I was so completely exhausted I feared I was getting the Rona. I simply lay around, sleeping as much as I could. I think it was a combination of overwhelming relief and the emotional firestorm of this week. It is so blessed not to wake up and think, “What’s he done NOW? Are we at war with Iran-North Korea-China-wherever?” I hope Thing has a desperately unhappy life from now on.
I wish the Rethugs would be bitten by rattlesnakes, especially McTurtle. Hope Fox News dies.
This will be a busy day of reviewing page proofs. I’m about half-way through the mss. Bfitz knows what it’s like to be bethumped with words! Anyway, I’ll get through it. I have to contact someone to interview her for the article I’ve been assigned to write, and contact the hearing aid technician to make an appointment with her. I’ll do that during my break.
