Good morning, we’re having a cold snap — had to get my grandmother’s quilt back out last night because the lows were in the 40s. I even turned the heater back on. Highs are going to be in the low 70s, so I’m going to go for a walk this afternoon. I was actually asleep when the alarm went off, I can’t remember the last time that happened. Today: get groceries, make 1 of next week’s dishes, get in that walk.

Thanks Dee…..as you know I enjoy reading fantasy books. When my grandson was younger and staying with us more often he shared his gaming fun with me but that’s all I know. Now I play solitaire games on line, and find it very relaxing.
Happy Spring! It’s 37 going to 65 and sunny again. W00T! Yesterday we got 18.3 KWHs – best single day since last August – and the m-t-d is right at 209. Holding the Good Thought we can do it again (or close) before the clouds move back in tomorrow.
The filibuster is a lot like the death penalty. If the death penalty was used to keep violent criminals from doing it again, was applied equally & equitably, and was done as humanely as our veterinarians do with animals whose time has come I would support it. (Since that would mean executing WASP supremacist terrorists like the being-I-will-not-name who killed 8 Asian people this week I know that will never happen so, no, I don’t support it.) If the filibuster was used to insure minority-in-the-population viewpoints were considered so that inherently damaging parts of laws could be amended and removed before a bill was passed, I’d support it. As it is, and knowing full well it is/was the last chance our team has had to block evil stuff coming from the Rs, it’s long past time for it to go.
Something’s going on with one or more of the cats. I’m not sure who the problem is but all of them seem to be ‘walking wary’ and occasionally I’ll hear nasty noises that stop as soon as I go to where they are. But somebody is upset enough to have pissed on my bed last evening. Fortunately I had enough quilts on my bed that nothing reached the sheets, much less the mattress. The quilts are in the washer right now. sigh. But Bobby may not be the cat I need to be isolating at night. Or not the only one. sigh.
On the “good news” side – I’ve found a pharmacy that actually does have vaccine and am now on the waiting list for that one. I got to talk to an actual human being who not only added me to the list but added as “call first” to the “call if no-show or cancellation” list because I’m only 2 miles down the road. And it might – no guarantees – be as early as next week. So. I’m feeling hopeful. & welcome everybody’s Good Energy in whatever form and by whatever name your Tradition suggests.

Bfitz, that’s good to hear about the vaccine! Yay! Hope it’s sooner rather than later.
DIL is going to get her jab on Tuesday. Wish my sons and the grandchildren could get it too.
Good Saturday morning, Meese, and thank you for the good wishes for my Dearly Beloved. He’s already looking better after good food, lots of sleep and rest, and no work to do. Well, he did repair my watchband and this morning he picked up Monty, so that’s work.
Anyway the black is receding from his face, gradually, his left eye has opened so he can read, and he’s applying ice several times a day. Tomorrow he will be allowed to shower, which will loosen the bandage so we can do the post-op care recommended by the doctor.
Right now it’s lovely and sunny in Ashburn, 43 F. and windless, going up to 57 F. later. I’ll take Monty out after the 2:30 ritual. We persuaded the officiating High Priestess to move it as 10 a.m. wasn’t convenient for either of us.
I started working on a new short story, “The Drunken Ladies of the Garden Club.” I haven’t really got into it yet, but I hope it’ll be as much fun to read as it is to write.
I wish both sons and all local grandchildren could get the vaccine. I’d feel better about their going back to school if they were all vaccinated.

Good morning, 43 and cloudy in Bellingham. Our garden work party is delayed but we’re still having a family lunch outside on this first day of spring so I’ve got a busy fun day ahead.
Good news from Oregon, our daughter and her husband are now vaccinated. Five more people to go and my family will finally be safer in this covid word. Feeling so grateful, and sending best wishes to all.
