Welcome to The Moose Pond! The Welcomings posts give the Moose, old and new, a place to visit and share words about the weather, life, the world at large and the small parts of Moosylvania that we each inhabit.
Welcomings will be posted at the start of each week (usually Saturday night with a Sunday date). To find the posts, just bookmark this link and Voila! (which is Moose for “I found everyone!!”).
The format is simple: each day, the first moose to arrive on-line will post a comment welcoming the new day and complaining (or bragging!) about their weather. Or mentioning an interesting or thought provoking news item. Or simply checking in.
So … what’s going on in your part of Moosylvania?

NOTE: The comments page will split off after 20 or so left margin comments with the most recent comments on the current page. To see the older comments, scroll to the bottom of the page (right before “Leave A Reply”) and use the Pages Tool to view previous pages, shown here with 3 pages of comments available and Page 2 circled.

Saturday Meese. 55 here in Kingston going up to 77 – a perfect fall day.
Watching Fiona this morning
Good Saturday morning, Meese. It’s 58 F. right now, going up to 82 F. I just lost an entire post by leaving to check the weather forecast. Will never do that again.
Monty is a little better, thanks for asking. We were off to a foggy start today but the sun has mostly chased it away. We’re going to see Nora’s soccer game this afternoon. Apparently she scored a goal last week.
Wishing a good Saturday to all at the Pond.
Good morning. Watching the news & eating breakfast. Going to a Beto postcard-writing event this afternoon.
It’s 65 heading for 90, the start of a week of warmer weather – St. Martin’s Summer in September I guess – and sunny so far. Of course it was supposed to be sunny yesterday but we only generated a bare 10 KWHs so maybe and maybe not. The m-t-d is 167 so still on track for 300 at least.
I’ve been to the Farmers Market – just went to my orchard guy’s slot and got the apples he’d sent for me (he does the Bentonville Market as it’s closer to where he lives, his paid-interns do the Fayetteville Market that’s closer to where they live). The Market’s bigger and I saw some folks I used to be “regulars” with but I didn’t stay. As much as I’d loved to have talked to them and see the changes. At 7:20 it was already getting crowded and very few people were masked. So now, at an apple a day, I’ve got a month’s worth of Jonathans. That part’s very nice. He charged me the “old” price, too. Bless him.
Everybody’s hanging on. So far, so good and all that. Healing Energy for everyone. Off to twitter. Bright the day, Meeses. {{{HUGS}}}
Good afternoon, 63, partly sunny and very breezy outside my window today. I was distracted with family phone calls this morning, but it’s a comfortable way to catch up with family so who cares if the rest of my day is slow getting underway. Time to get busy now, and I’ll decide what to do when it happens :) Best wishes to all.
