Good morning. Still unseasonably warm here, currently 70. Watching the news, going to get groceries later. Maybe a walk this afternoon before an expected storm.

It is 39 degrees in Tucson with an expected daytime high of 63. Sunny skies are in the forecast. It is expected to get to 66 tomorrow but then we go into the deep freeze – literally it will be freezing overnight on Tuesday. We may get some snow in the mountains but nothing (so far!) is expected here in the valley.
I have been reading some more on the Sinema situation and there will still be time (and polls) to convince her to not run in 2024. One of two things will happen: she will run and take votes away from the Democrat running and help elect the Republican or she will run and take votes away from the Republican and the Democrat will win. What will not happen is that she will get re-elected, too many people here don’t like her. The state is split almost evenly into three groups: Democrats, Republicans, and Independents. That does not meant the "Independent Party", of course, that means people who choose to not indicate their party preference. Most of those people do have a preference, though, and it leans Republican although in 2022 quite a few voted for the Democrats because the Republicans were so unqualified and, frankly, scary. So what would happen if a more traditional Republican ran for Senate, maybe one of the ones who lost to Masters in the Senate primary or one of the ones who lost to Kari Lake in the gubernatorial primary? My money says that that candidate would win in 2024 and that Sinema takes votes from the Democrat. If a Masters or Lake type of candidate wins the primary, then the Democrat has a chance to win. It will definitely be interesting but unfortunately interesting in the way of the Chinese curse "May you live in interesting times."
Gas prices coming down has made inflation forecasts drop and people are feeling better about the economy and Joe Biden. I am convinced – and no one will ever dissuade me – that the fossil fuel industry kept gas prices high to put their preferred political party into power and thwart the Democrats agenda. Sadly, they won and our next two years with the deadend party with the Speakers gavel is going to be miserable for people who need the government to stay open and solvent. Apparently, Democrats have no interest in taking the Debt Ceiling gun out of the hands of the Republicans. :(
Okay, so I spent the morning doing things that were NOT on my hot list so I need to get back on track. Tomorrow morning is Microsoft Patch Tuesday Minus Two and I have to connect early to client servers for pre-release maintenance. The plan is to visit the Dark Sky park around 11am when it will be 57 degrees which will be comfortable for hiking. We have no idea yet what kind of trails they have and if any are relatively flat. I can’t do the really steep trails – yet.

Anyway, think about this: our President appoints KRISTIN to the ambassadorship of some obscure country, like Central Slobbovia, and a Democratic Governor appoints a senator to take KRISTIN’s place. I like this idea, myself.
For someone who was elected by Democrats to take a Democratic Senate seat, this bee-yatch has reneged on her promise.
It’s 49 heading for 56 and overcast. Again. Yesterday we got 6.48 KWHs before the clouds moved in. The m-t-d is 39.47 – not on track, no way to catch up, and lucky if we get 120 this month at this rate. sigh.
Still smiling about Brittney Griner. And for all us folks on tight budgets I’m glad Big Oil is letting the prices come down now that they’ve got the House and it’s too late to do anything about the Senate. The Stock Market is apparently still hoping to somehow get the Senate since they’re still manipulating the Market to go down, no matter how good the news is on any front.
Sinusitis flare overnight, not sure about how my hands will do today. So far, mostly so good. But I haven’t really started my online day yet. We shall see what we shall see. Bright the day, Meeses. {{{HUGS}}}
Good morning, 45 and raining outside my window today. I think I feel a bit better this morning, but I’ll see how the day goes. We cancelled our planned visit with Lisa and her family so I’ve got a quiet day ahead and that seems to be what I need. We may get the ornaments on the tree, and I hope to get the boxes ready to mail on Monday. And that will be the day. Best wishes to all.

Good Saturday moaning, Meese. It’s 41 F. and gray, gray, my world is gray in Ashburn today.
Someone who came to the Writers’ Group a couple of times died yesterday. She had nonalcoholic liver disease, what a bummer. I’m going to a memorial dinner for her on the 19th. I really liked her: she had overcome considerable difficulties in her life, yet she triumphed over them.
Still feeling great about Brittney, bless her heart, and still reveling in “Meghan and Harry” on Netflix. Meghan is one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen in my life, and I love H.’s blue eyes and red hair. I’m gonna watch it ALL.
Managed to make it to the Shred Truck at the Clubhouse before it lumbered off at noon today. I have to go to the grocery store later after tea. Sigh. Did I tell everyone here that we relinquished Mandy to foster care a month after we got her? No? I hated to do it, she was such a sweet dog, but I simply could not deal with the constant pooping. We took her out constantly, but she still pooped in the middle of the night and sometimes during the day. I hope she finds a family who has a big house, a mudroom with a tiled floor, and a big, fenced backyard. Dearly has not been out for a walk in the fresh air ever since Monty died. Gods, Dearly’s condition has deteriorated. Perhaps in January, when the doctor can do something for his knees, he’ll be better.
I’ve promised to make Cornish pasties and cabbage for dinner tomorrow. The leftover pasties will be great for Dearly’s lunches, as I’ll be out partying all next week. Went to a party yesterday and had a great time.
Did my Yule newsletter but had a terrible time trying to incorporate the photos. My skills are greatly lacking in that regard. I especially wanted one of Karl standing next to a medieval statue in Canterbury. Oh, well, people are lucky to get anything at all.
