Welcome to The Moose Pond! The Welcomings posts give the Moose, old and new, a place to visit and share words about the weather, life, the world at large and the small parts of Moosylvania that we each inhabit.
Welcomings will be posted at the start of each week (usually Saturday night with a Sunday date). To find the posts, just bookmark this link and Voila! (which is Moose for “I found everyone!!”).
The format is simple: each day, the first moose to arrive on-line will post a comment welcoming the new day and complaining (or bragging!) about their weather. Or mentioning an interesting or thought provoking news item. Or simply checking in.
So … what’s going on in your part of Moosylvania?

NOTE: The comments page will split off after 20 or so left margin comments with the most recent comments on the current page. To see the older comments, scroll to the bottom of the page (right before “Leave A Reply”) and use the Pages Tool to view previous pages, shown here with 3 pages of comments available and Page 2 circled.

Good morning, meeses! Saturday …
It is 82 degrees in Tucson with an expected daytime high of 106. Sunny skies are in the forecast. Heat Warning today and tomorrow for the Tucson metro area, no chance of any monsoonal moisture reaching us.
The news is all 2024 horserace stories and tRump criming, current past and future. One story I put in my Pocket to read later suggests that people are trying to resurrect the “Trump Economic Anxiety” theory. Puh-lease. After all of the evidence of the past 6 years, to deny that tRump’s base is all about white male (and their Stepford wive’s) anxiety is being willfully blind.
I will be taking another short screen time day and then will hit the ground running tomorrow to stay ahead of client projects due next week.
See all y’all later!
Good morning, 67 and light clouds in my garden today. I had my coffee on my friends porch this morning, so her dog had time to sniff around. She is on her way back home now and I hope the additional meds they are giving her to strengthen her white blood count will help her withstand this last round of chemo. She has one more scheduled and then I think it’s a wait and see what happens time. Treating aggressive cancer is brutal, but so far she is surviving.
It’s a pretty summer day and I’ve got some winter pansies to plant so I’ll be outside soon. I decided to just forget about summer flowers this year and plant violas and pansies that should last well into fall. Knowing that I have help with the rest of the garden is a huge relief, freeing me to plant a few flowers. Best wishes to all.
