Welcome to The Moose Pond! The Welcomings posts give the Moose, old and new, a place to visit and share words about the weather, life, the world at large and the small parts of Moosylvania that we each inhabit.
Welcomings will be posted at the start of each week (usually Saturday night with a Sunday date). To find the posts, just bookmark this link and Voila! (which is Moose for “I found everyone!!”).
The format is simple: each day, the first moose to arrive on-line will post a comment welcoming the new day and complaining (or bragging!) about their weather. Or mentioning an interesting or thought provoking news item. Or simply checking in.
So … what’s going on in your part of Moosylvania?
…
NOTE: The comments page will split off after 20 or so left margin comments with the most recent comments on the current page. To see the older comments, scroll to the bottom of the page (right before “Leave A Reply”) and use the Pages Tool to view previous pages, shown here with 3 pages of comments available and Page 2 circled.

It’s 49 heading for 55 and drizzly. The lights are on and the PV system isn’t. Yesterday we generated 3.7 KWHs and the m-t-d is 191 – looks like we’re going to be depending on Monday & Tuesday for the sunshine to get over 200. And how far over 200 we actually manage to get. Reaching the 229 we need to beat out last year is possible. But apparently not likely.
Fineena’s doctor is finally back – and so booked up the soonest she can get in is Nov 9th. My eldest grandson’s birthday. Maybe it’s a good omen. Or something. She found a few more things, some she was actually looking for at the time she found them. LOL.
I hope basket is having a good time visiting his family in Singapore. He’s got an anniversary coming up and it’s good for him to be surrounded by family right now.
If I’d known the temps were going to start dropping as early as they did yesterday, I would have done the laundry then. But today won’t get warm enough to worry about when I light the fire and I’ll get it done today. Meanwhile I’d best get on with my boosting day. Holding the Good Thoughts for everybody. {{{Meeses}}}
Good morning, 34 and sunny in my garden today. The temps were lower overnight so I know some plants will be frosty, but all the hoses were disconnected so we’re sort of ready for winter. I was to tired to do all I had planned to do yesterday but I hope I can do more today. Best wishes to all.
Good Saturday afternoon, Meese! It’s a beautiful day here, 81 F. if you please—we might as well be with Jan in Arizona! Last night on the way to rehearsal I saw the big, beautiful, one-day-away-from-full Moon. I bowed to her Silvery Highness, of course. Will bow again tonight. It’s a most beautiful Hunter’s Moon, although the only thing I’m hunting is the energy to do everything I gotta do.
Next week will be exhausting as we have to wear full makeup and costume and walk around the restaurants on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesay. It leaves no time for me to have dinner. I’ll have to hit on one of the three restaurants that offer lunch, and get the same for Dearly.
There was once a Prince Matchabelli (sic) cologne called “Golden Autumn.” How I wish it still existed! I went out a little before noon for a walk. Some leaves were drifting in slow motion off the trees, some were shedding their leaves quickly. Everything was hot, still, and dry as a bone.
Time to sit on the porch for a bit, then bestir myself to do some writing. Hope everyone at the Pond is having a good day!
