Week-long Welcomings from Moosylvania: March 30th

Welcome to The Moose Pond! The Welcomings posts give the Moose, old and new, a place to visit and share words about the weather, life, the world at large and the small parts of Moosylvania that we each inhabit.

Welcomings will be posted at the start of each week (usually Saturday night with a Sunday date). To find the posts, just bookmark this link and Voila! (which is Moose for “I found everyone!!”).

The format is simple: each day, the first moose to arrive on-line will post a comment welcoming the new day and complaining (or bragging!) about their weather. Or mentioning an interesting or thought provoking news item. Or simply checking in.

So … what’s going on in your part of Moosylvania?

NOTE: The comments page will split off after 20 or so left margin comments with the most recent comments on the current page. To see the older comments, scroll to the bottom of the page (right before “Leave A Reply”) and use the Pages Tool to view previous pages, shown here with 3 pages of comments available and Page 2 circled.

  1. Good gray Saturday morning, Meese. Feeling as gloomy as the leaden sky (it may rain, it may not) this morning.

    At rehearsal last night we ran through the entire play for the first time. It was terrible! I blew a line or two, missed a cue, etc., etc. In addition, my hotelier friend is sending very unfriendly vibes. Pshaw.

    On the good news front, had lunch with my grandson and their fiancee yesterday, and it was great! He opened up more than I’ve ever known him to do. Perhaps that’s because he feels more comfortable as a man than he was with his birth gender. The fiancee is adorable, sweet face, dark eyes, springy black curls. They’ll fly back to Ohio on Monday, which is his/their 31st birthday. I’d love to go to their wedding next year, but who knows what the world will be like then?

    It’s 62 F. in Ashburn right now, and my mood is as gray as the weather. Continuing to send good vibes to the ill. Wishing a good day to all at the Pond.

  2. Good morning, meeses! Saturday …

    It is 46 degrees in Tucson 🌵 with an expected daytime high of 66. Mostly sunny skies are in the forecast. The week ahead will see rising temperatures.

    The NCAA Basketball Women’s Championship will be a rematch of the 2022 teams: South Carolina versus UConn with South Carolina with South Carolina winning handily and beginning their dominance of the championship. This year’s UConn team will give them a run for their money and should be an exciting game.

    I have set myself some goals for getting projects done this weekend and am making pretty good progress. Time to get back to it.

    See all y’all later!

  3. It’s 44 heading for 48 overcast and off-and-on raining. Yesterday we generated a whole KWH and the m-t-d at 29 is definitely not on track.

    Sinusitis flare bad enough that around 1 am I took some generic Nyquil. I don’t like the stuff. It’s raspberry flavored which upsets my tummy. And it flat knocks me out. Which it did. I slept until after 9 and am still slow & groggy. I’d best be about my boosting. Holding the Good/Healing/Protecting Thought for everybody. {{{Meeses}}}

  4. Hello from Bellingham, 41 and sunny here today. RonK is at the protest march but my arthritic joints are not cooperating today so I’m staying home. I have a few half finishes projects that will keep me safely busy so he will support our community and I will tend to home and garden. Best wishes to all.
